The Torana is an Aussie automotive icon, not just on the streets, but also on the track. During the 70’s in its heyday, it dominated both the track and the showrooms. It always won on Sunday, so it was guaranteed to sell on Monday. These days, they are a much sought after collectors item. A good example will start at $50,000. The super rare versions can reach 6 figures. In November 2020, a restored original HDT Torana (race car) sold at auction for $910,000. Not bad for a car thats over 40 years old.

This model is of the SS ‘A9X’ variant, which was about as close as it got the race version. The A9X had all the requirements to make them legal and safe, but underneath it was pure race car, with competition suspension and a modified 5.0 litre V8.
